Dahi Vada is served as savory in Indian Cuisine and is mostly served chilled!

Dahi Vada




Recipe for Dahi Vada

Ingredients

(1) Urad dal- ½ cup
(2) Moong dal- ½ cup
(3) Yogurt- 1 cup
(4) Cumin powder and paprika as required
(5) Oil for frying
(6) Milk- ¼ cup

Method

(1) Clean both the dals, wash and soak in water for 5 hours. Blend in blender at medium speed using the minimum amount of water required to keep paste moving freely and add salt also.

(2) Heat oil in a wok, drop spoonful of batter in the hot oil using a large tablespoon.

(3) Fry until golden brown. Drop in water. Let it soak till ready to serve.

(4) Beat yogurt with milk. Add spice according to taste.

(5) Squeeze out water from the vada and add yogurt.

Your Vada is ready! Serve it chill with coriander leaves and sev as garnishing.
