Shrikhand is an Indian sweet dish made of strained yogurt. It is one of the main desserts in Maharashtrian and Gujarati cuisine. Preparation of this dish is very simple but it takes some time to process yogurt properly. It can be garnished and flavored in plenty of yum-yummy ways.

Recipe for Shrikhand

Ingredients

(1) Dahi (curd) - 3 cups
(2) Sugar (powdered) - 2  1/2 cup
(3) Pista - 7-10
(4) Chironji - 2 tablespoon
(5) Kesar (saffron) - one big pinch
(6) Hot milk - 2 big spoon
(7) Small cardamom powder - 1/4 tablespoon

Method

(1) Pack the curd in mulmul cloth and hang it for one night for all the water to go away. If possible , hang inside a refrigerator.

(2) Add dahi (curd) in a bowl. Add powdered sugar in it. Mix well.

(3) Dip pista in hot water for 5-10 minutes. Remove, peel and cut, wash and dry chirovje.

(4) Mix kesar (saffron) in hot water and add that mixture in the curd mixture's bowl. Mix well.

(5) Add chironje and small elaichi powder and mix well. Garnish with pista and serve cold. Your Srikhand is ready to eat! Do remember us. Happy Cooking!
